How do I wash clothes with self-driven metal eyelets?

femaleclaws asked: I am planning on putting metal eyelets on some of my clothes (all are made of cotton) with an eyelet setting machine. Can I wash them in the machine, or do I handwash them?
Also, can these eyelets rust? If so, should I be setting them into my clothes at all?

How can i remove a fade stain from clothes that a blue skirt faded on in the wash?
