I’m a 15 year old girl, and my parents just put me in charge of my own money for clothes, entertainment, books (I read ALOT), etc.
I want to go shopping for clothes this month and flesh out my wardrobe. What are the basics that a teen girl needs, and what are some cute outfits I could do?
I wear everything from girly skirts and tights to punk jeans.
Also, since I’m buying all this with my own money, cheaper is better. Think Target instead of Macy’s.

I think a girl should have at least 3 pairs
good luck
of jeans.. a black and white under shirt and a pair of sandals. I think that’s pretty basic
She needs the same as an adult woman, which really isn’t that many. Five short-sleeved tops and the same long-sleeved. Four skirts or pairs of pants. One or two dresses. Now that’s more than you NEED, but it’s a nice basic framework assuming that you can afford it.
You could also consider looking at Goodwill or somewhere similar. It’s cheaper even than Walmart, and you can find higher quality stuff. I also prefer the large selection in styles compared to a typical store which has a limited number of styles with large numbers of shirts.
well, just continue from where you are now..i think that in one year, you shouldn’t buy more than 5 tops and 2 bottoms..unless you’re a total shopaholic, lol
BASICS:
white cami/tank top
black cami/tank top
a couple of plain, colored form fitting shirts
a couple of colored polos
and if you want, a few ‘graphic’ tee’s, like stuff from delias [the style, the store's expensive] or music logos
atleast three pairs of jeans, and a few capri’s/shorts
sorry, if that’s more than ‘basic’ [;
hhmm…. well, i have 3 pais of plain jeans. I have a pair of skinny jeans. and different color shorts. target is a great place to shop, so dont worry! Try wet seal, or aeropostale. they run pretty inexpensive. do basic peices with bold color. not every teen girl has the same amount of clothes! Dont forget, have two jackets and a sweatshirt also. you will use them allot more than you think.
like skinny jeans
boots
converse
new and better looking shirts
you should always have like at least 2 pair of jeans one light and one dark. and you need shorts for summer/spring of coarse… and i would suggest you get a few cute cotton tee’s and then one shirt thats a little more dressy but that you really like. thats good to start off with.. and it depends on what season it is but i would suggest a jacket or some flip-flops.
the tee’s buy one get one half off at delia’s-http://store.delias.com/item.do?categoryID=463itemID=49370sizeFilter=colorFilter=brandFilter=

If you want to buy basic yet FASHIONABLE clothing, do the following:
1) buy basic tees (scoop-neck.v-neck) and tank tops (spaghetti strap or sleeveless) in solid colors. you can easily layer your tank tops under your tees to spice up your look.
2) buy printed and/or solid colored hoodies.
3) buy shoes that match or compliment your tops (solid colored flats, converse, and/or cute flip-flops can be easily and cheaply bought and worn).
4) have at least 3 pairs of jeans. dark wash, medium wash, and light wash. (skinny jeans or slightly flared jeans with a spandex blend).
5) Once you’ve got the basics down, ACCESSORISE! you can make the same outfit look TOTALLY different when you mix up your choice of bracelets, belts, necklaces, anklets, armlets, scarves, headbands, glasses, purses, socks, etc.
i recommend Claire’s, Icing, or Target for wallet-friendly accessories. for slightly higher priced, but better quality accessories, Forever 21, HM, or Wet Seal. even Hot Topic! For more exotic, foreign accessories and jewlery, try World Market.
omg, i almost forgot! have at least 3 pairs of leggings (black, grey, white for basics) and u can put them with shorts and skirts!
good luck!
