Its hard to tell you without looking around your place. It has to be something strong enough to hold the weight of the cloths do u have a carport with exposed rafters? Go to hardware store and purchase a metal bar, with a T on the end. drive that in the ground a few feet to hold the weight. Perhaps go to Lowe’s and buy yourself an outdoor cloths line. A good investment to have for future yard sales.

Since I had columns (sort of, more like arches along the front patio, so there were columns in between) I used my pressure shower rod as a clothes rod. I tried rope, but the weight of the clothes ends up stretching the rope and you end up with all the clothes bunched up in the middle of the rope.

I use two ladders with a pole set between them on the higher steps. I have metal poles to use, but you could even use a broom stick, as long as it’s strong enough to support the weight of the clothes.
