When they are just barely damp bring them and put in the dryer to fluff them up.
You will still be saving energy
add fabric softner to your washload.
Fabric softener works with us. But if ya tried that and it still doesn’t work, do as the first answer said, bring them in while a little damp and dry them in the dryer for a little, very little bit
=)
Liquid fabric softener works wonders, but only use the recommended amount….using to much on wash cloths and towels acts like a water repellant. Also, as stated in another answer, put clothes in dryer when they are almost dry. you can even use low heat or air fluff. Clothes smell soooooo good when dried on a line outside. Also, your bed linens will be crisp!
I use 1-2 cups white vinegar in the rinse. Fabric softener leaves residue in your clothes and the eventually stop absorbing anything. Vinegar even stops jeans from getting board stiff, and bring the absorbancy back to your towels and washclothes
Try a detergent that has some fabric softener in it. But some stiffness is the trade off for outdoor drying. In return, though, you get great really clean smelling clothes! Also, beware, as some communities, condo associations, etc.,believe it or not have ordinances or rules prohibiting outdoor clothes drying!
