how to stop clothes from shrinking in the dryer?

The dryer in my apartment building’s laundry room seems to like shrinking my clothes. It automatically has a timer for an hour, but if I wait for the whole time to be used up, my clothes are dry but they are also smaller. If I take them out 10-15 minutes ahead of time, they are wrinkled and damp so I have to hang them up somewhere to finish drying. Is there a trick to getting my clothes dry AND not shrunken?

    When i don’t want my clothes to shrink i just hang dry them. just lay them out on a table or over a door. they won’t shrink, and probably last longer too.

    buy them one size to big, so if they do shrink you don’t have a problem

    If there are certain clothes that I have that have a tendency to shrink, I line dry them. And then once they are dry I toss them in the dryer for a few minutes to soften them up.

    Use a cooler temperature on the dryer. The high heat is what is causing the clothes to shrink.

    Wash them on cold, low or delicate. Then either hang dry them, or dry them really low on delicate…You could even buy a size bigger if it’s 100% cotton.

    The only thing that I do in this situation is either not put them in the dryer or put in on delecates this way they get dried but not shrunk. hope it helps

    I never never put my clothes in dryer just hang them up

    check to make sure that they are supposed to go in the dryer. i hang a lot of my clothes up so they wont shrink
