9 Comments to “Why do my clothes have dry detergent on them after being put through the washer?”

  1. *JaneDoe* says:

If its powder detergent it means that the water isn’t warm enough to dissolve it. If your using liquid detergent you could be using too much or need to put it through another rinse cycle.

  2. jgsanchez95838 says:

    maybe your putting to much

  3. JoshuaG says:

I’ve had this problem before. Turns out our agitator wasn’t agitating anymore.
Most powdered soaps dissolve fine in cold water.

  4. Wounded Duck says:

You probably put the clothes in before the water, don’t you? Fill the tub about halfway, then add soap, then add clothes!

  5. theoriginalquestmaker says:

It might be the order you add things to the washer. I let about a gallon of water go into the washer before adding the detergent then let at least another gallon go in before adding my clothes. I haven’t had a problem yet.

  6. porcelina_68 says:

The water may not be hot enough to melt powder detergent. Try adding the detergent to the water before you put in the clothes, or switch to liquid.

  7. rosabearr says:

If you bought one of those cheap buckets made by Lava that may be the case. I use that brand once and it was the soap.

    Just switch to different brand.

  8. Dzalumni says:

I’m assuming you are using Power Detergent. I would recommend using liquid detergent, try using a liquid detergent like MelaPower that is eco-friendly and will not add phosphates and other poisons to the sewage system and back into the water we drink.

    And, don’t overcrowd the machine.
